CA BOUND!!!

Hi Everyone!

We went on an AIRPLANE!  We went to visit Mommy's family (my family too, of course!) that lives in CA.  We had so much fun.  It was nice to play outside in the nice weather, eat at Mommy's favorite places and spend time with family.  I can't wait to tell you all about it!

I really liked riding on the airplane.  Daddy strapped my car seat to his luggage and pushed me through the airport!!  That was really fun!  We were able to explore the airport, have a snack and watch all of the people walking by.  Once we got on the plane, seeing the airplane wings were the best part.  I was so excited to be on the plane, that I couldn't sleep.  I had a very hard time trying to settle down, so we just had to the best we could and know that there was an END to the trip!  Somehow, someway, we survived!  The best part was that we were able to make a pit stop at In-N-Out burger in CA and try it out.  Those burgers are yummy!!!!

We stayed with Auntie Callie and Uncle Larry.  They have a dog Marley, who is a bulldog.  He is so cool!  They were so nice to let us stay with them and were wonderful hosts.

I was sooooo soooo soooo very tired and slept a ton the next day.  So the next day, I was ready to go and explore CA!!!  Our first stop was Fisherman's Wharf.  It's still one of the best places to see lots of Sea Lions.  Since it was early in the morning, we were able to get a good view of the Sea Lions.  They barked liked doggies!  Auntie Callie came with us too!  We had so much fun together.  It was almost 70 degrees, so we got really enjoy time outside!

Picking flowers for Mommy (yes she was all teary)

The next day, we took an adventure to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  Mommy always tells me stories about how she worked there when she was little and it is still one of her favorite places on earth.  We were able to see her friend Ken who told us all about the latest and greatest happenings at the aquarium.  I loved going up and down the stairs, playing in the kid's area and looking into the MILLION GALLON TANK!  There were giant green sea turtles, so cool!

On our way home, we stopped at one of the best pizza places in the world, Gianni's!  Mommy's favorite is their Jalapeno and Mushroom.  I only ate the mushrooms and she was right, this pizza is DELICIOUS!!!

The main reason we went to visit California, was to see Uncle Larry and Auntie Callie.  They are having a baby girl in March and I finally get to have my FIRST cousin!  I can't wait to meet her.  So we threw Callie and Larry a party to celebrate the new baby coming.  We had so much fun and I was able to meet Callie's friends and lots of family friends too!  The favorite part of the day was everyone decorated onesies for Baby Deguzman.  Everyone was able to put their own personal touch and when my cousin arrives, she has lots of new homemade outfits to wear!  Callie and Larry were so happy to have the party and we were glad to celebrate a new family member!

One special trip we always make is to visit Mommy's Grandma.  My great grandmother, Teruko.  She was very special to Mommy and she misses her a lot.  So we went to visit her and make sure she knew that we were there and to share some fun memories of her.  It was also fun to tell her about a new baby coming to join our family.  She would be so happy!

We had so much fun spending quality time with Uncle Larry and Callie.  We were able to be silly and enjoy just hanging out.  Uncle Larry and Callie's favorite silly moment was when I streaked through the house before a bath.  They love being silly!

(One of my Mommy's favorite pictures from this trip)

I also was able to spend some time with my Nana.  She has so many fun things at her house.  She has TWO dogs, Yuki and Frosty.  I was able to play with them.  Nana also helped me to feed Sam, her turtle!  He was so cool and he likes to eat flowers.  She also had a rocking horse that Mommy used to ride when she was little.  It was nice spending time with my Nana and I hope we can visit with her again soon.

That was SUCH a fun trip.  The plane ride home wasn't any easier, but we MADE IT!  We were all so happy to see our dog Derby and sleep in our own beds!

Until our next adventure....

Love,
Clive

20 Months - Music, Arts, Crafts and a Teeny Bit of Snow...

Happy 20 months to me!!!  I know I have been a little bit behind with tell you all what I have been doing, so bear with me.

My 20th month has really brought out my love for music.  I can't tell you how much I love to play the drums, tambourine, march around the house and play on my piano.  Music is the key to my soul...Mommy and I have daily dance sessions in the living rom.  Maybe I get my cool moves from her!?!

Next to dancing, I love painting.  At school, we have an Art Studio and once a week we get to work on a project with our teacher, Adrienne.  Sometimes we paint, play-do, clay, etc...It is so much fun and I look forward to it every week.  I am also getting better at not eating the paint too!

This winter has been very mild.  We had one decent snow in January.  We all went outside to play in the snow.  I finally got to wear my snow pants, boots and jacket.  We all bundled up and went sledding in our backyard.  It was really fun.  It was very cold, so we didn't stay outside for too long.  But you know who had more fun than me?  Derby!!!!  She loves the snow and was chasing and running with us.

Speaking of Derby....I love my dog!  I know sometimes I pull her tail or try to run her over with my truck, but she really is a good girl.  She is so very patient.  Mommy has really been trying to help me use gentle hands.  So every morning, I run over to Derby and give her kisses.

That about sums it up....as far as my favorite songs, I love the ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Mr. Sun and Row Row.  My favorite color is BLUE...everything is the color of the BLUE, did you know that?  I am still a good eater and my favorite foods are avocado, annie's bunny crackers, gnocchi, eggs, yogurt and kiwi!  I could keep going, but those are the usual suspects.

I'll talk to you all soon!

Love,
Clive

Happy 2012...but mostly Happy Birthday, MOMMY!!!!

Happy 2012 to everyone!  We hope all of you had fun with your families celebrating the start of a new year!

We have a lot of exciting things in store for our family this year.  I can't wait to be a big brother!  My Nana gave me a baby boy doll because we have been talking a lot about having a new baby coming to our house.  We practice hugging, dressing, wrapping and rocking the baby.  I am going to be a good big brother!

To ring in the new year, we went to Boston.  We ate Dim Sum at one of our favorite places and went to watch the parade and see the beginning of the fireworks show.  It was very cold and the loud noises from the fireworks were a little scary, so we didn't stay too long.

On January 3rd, we celebrated Mommy's birthday!  Nonnie came over and we had dinner and her favorite cupcakes with candles of course!  I also made Mommy a card at school.  She is the best Mommy and I'm so glad that I can now SING Happy Birthday to her this year!  I love you Mommy!

I'll be sharing more about my adventures soon!

Love,
Clive
